The three wishes (2nd. part)
So they thought about it. And they thought for a long time, buy they couldn´t
decide what to wish for.
M: Oh, I can´t decide.
W: Neither can I, only three wishes.
M: Let´s think about it tonight and make our wishes in the morning.
W: Yes, let´s do that.
M. Let´s sit here by the fire a little longer. It´s nice and warm.
So they sat by the fire
W: The fire´s nice and warm. Yes, it´s a lovely fire. I ought to cook something on
it. Except that I haven´t got anything to cook.
M: (Sleeping) Mmmm.
And the woman thought how nice it would be if she had some sausages to cook on the fire.
W: It would be nice to have some sausages to cook on the fire. It´s a lovely
fire. Mmm,
I wish I had a string of sausages.
And before she could say another word, down the chimney came a string of
sausages, lots and lots of them.
M: What? What? What´s this? Sausages? What have you done?
The woman realised that she had made a mistake.
W: Oh! I made a mistake.
M: A mistake?
W: Oh, dear, I spoke without thinking. I said “I wish I had a string of sausages to cook on the fire”, and all these sausages came down the
chimney.
The husband was very angry.
M: That´s our first wish, wasted!
W: Oh, I´m sorry!
M: Sausages! Sausages! All the things we could have wished for, good health,
money, fame and you wish for sausages!
W: Oh dear.
M: Now we´ve only got two wishes left.
W: Only two.
M: A string of sausages, sausages. Ooh, I wish they were stuck to the end of your
nose!
