LEGEND OF THE
    MARCH AMULET

The sun was watching to the people’s joy at a dance

feast in a village for a long time. He was offering light

and heat to the people and was willing to take part to the

dance feast too. So, one day he decided to transform itself

into a handsome young man and to take part at the dance feast

in the evening. The sun didn’t know that an evil monster dragon

was trying for a long time to catch it and to extinguish the

light of the star and to become the master of a dark world.

So, the monster dragon kidnapped the sun and hide

it in a dark, cold cave. The world became dark and people

sad, the flowers didn’t blossom anymore and the birds

didn’t sing too.

A brave young man from the village took the decision

to defy the monster dragon and

to release the sun! So, they

fighted again and again and in

the young’s mind was all the

time what the monster dragon

stealed from the people:

the light, the joy,the song,

the beauty.

The fight lasted long time and one morning the light of

the sun was shining again! The first spring flowers showed-the

daffodils, together with a few drops of blood in the snow…

So, in the first day of March, the boys are offering

to the girls a knitted thread in white and red, remembering

this way about the young man sacrifice, the brave young man

who took back the

sun back to the people.

Red is the symbol

of beauty, heat and

light and suggests

the blood of the

young man who fought

for the sun. White

symbolize the purity

of the daffodils,

the first spring

flowers.
