ROSCÓN DE REYES

Ingredients for six people:

  • 200 gr butter

  • 200 gr sugar

  • 3 eggs,

  • 200 gr flour

  • 1 tsp yeast

  • half a litre of milk

  • 200gr frosted fruit.

Mix the butter with the sugar, add the egg yokes after beating them and the milk. Add the yeast and the flour, beat the dough with a wooden spoon and drop in small pieces of fruit. Beat the egg whites and add them to the dough.

Grease a ring mould with butter and sprinkle it with flour before pouring in the mixture. Add the novelty making sure it’s strong enough to endure the oven heat and the teeth of the lucky soul who finds it.

Bake at 180ºC for 45 minutes. Check the dough with a needle. If it comes out clean the Roscón is ready.

Remove it from the mould, sprinkle it with glazed sugar and top it off with pieces of frosted fruit. Once the Roscón has cooled you can fill it with chocolate or whipped cream and serve with milk or hot chocolate.
